I. Sport-specific criminal law provisions

  1. Art. 15.1 of the Sports Law (as amended on 28.01.2016, entry in force on March 1st, 2016)

Article 15.1. Manipulation of sports competitions

(1) Manipulation of sports competition (hereinafter - manipulation) means any operation that violates the uncertainty concerning the course or result of a sports competitions.

(2) Manipulation is prohibited.

(3) Athletes, sports organizations, sports workers and sports professionals are obliged to take all necessary actions to prevent manipulation.

 

  1. Art. 212.1 of the Criminal Law (as amended on 28.01.2016, entry in force on March 1st, 2016)

(1) Manipulation of the sports competitions-shall be punished by imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or with a short custodial sentence or community service, or a fine.

(2) If the activities described in para. 1 are associated with transfer or offering of material value, property or benefits of another nature, the sanction shall be-imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years, or a short-term imprisonment or community service, or a fine.

(3) The activities described in para. 2, if they are committed on a large scale or by an organized group, shall be punished by imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years, or a short-term imprisonment or community service, or a fine.
